Photo/Graphic Edges is the original edge and framing product on the market. As time passed, the company saturated the market with it's individual packages and upgrades and recently combined all of the effects into one massive product. Photo/Graphic Edges can be applied to a color or grayscale image. Effects range from simple photographic development effects such as sepia, mezzotint and burned paper to advanced printing effects feathered deckles, creative matte backgrounds to customized lighting effects. I hesitate to mention you can even create quick bevels or carved edge effects — please don't. Bevel and 3-D effects almost always scream "amateur" on the web. The program provides control of the edge sizes, orientation, position, rotation, softness, border width, color and shape. And yes, you can combine effects. You can even preview feature gives you a real-time look at the effect as you work on it. Photo/Graphic Edges 10,000+ is available for both Windows and Mac systems. The program is a memory hog, however. Unfortunately, the programmers have never tightened up their code bloat. So if you are planning to work on large image files, such as multilayer Photoshop files, you'll want as much RAM as you can get. Smaller, web optimized images should require no additional memory. The program can work as a stand-alone or as filters within many of the major graphics and page layout programs such Adobe Photoshop or PageMaker.
